Describe and explain what is the one thing you like the most in this class? What was your least favorite and why?  What is the one thing you would improve about this class?  How?
(Use rigorous)

What i like the most about this class is that I get to work on my own. I also like that
I get my own working space. Having my own space makes me feel comfortable and relaxed. What I also like about this class are the journals. We get random questions that make us think, and type at the same time. I also enjoy the lessons, like making brochures and certificates.

I really don't have a least favorite for this class. It's actually one of my most favorite classes. We get time to work and learn new things that benefit us. For one reason I get to learn new ways to type documents. I wouldn't improve anything in this class. This class is straight forward and simple, it's not rigorous either.

This class has taught me lot's of things, like how to duplicate without pressing copy and paste. It saves time, and also money if I think about it. For example learning how to trouble shoot, so I may fix my computer is something is wrong with it.

If you could be either the most attractive, the most athletic, or the smartest kid in your class, which would you choose?  Why?  What are the benefits?
(Use vanity)

Personally I like being who I am, but if I really had to choose it would be athletic. Being the most attractive would be nice, having everyone compliment. Yet, vanity isn't really me, I would like to be popular but for who I am. Being smart is always good, I'm already called a nerd. I think just because I do my work, doesn't mean I'm a nerd.

Being the smartest kid isn't really good because the lazy people always bother you. Then all the other people in your class  would want to copy you. I hate that feeling, because your thinking, well I spent most of my time doing my work. Then, while you just want to copy while you were just goofing off and not doing anything. I like being straight up with my work, like no you can't see it. Sometimes I even say I didn't do it and take it out when the teacher asks for it.

I choose athletic because it's a good quality. Not all people are good at sports. Sports have you stay fit and only people with good grades keep up with a sport and school. So if you look at it , athletic mostly covers for the other two qualities. Another reason I choose it was because I love sports. It's also a good way to get your mind off of things.

Do you agree with all 11?  Why or why not?  Which one stood out in your mind the most?  List the 3 most important too you, prioritize them and explain why you chose them.
(Use prioritize)

I agree with all 11 rules. They seem reasonable, and they make you think. They made me think how I view life and the lessons there are once you are left alone. Your parents won't always be there to hold your hand . Life is hard and there are lot's of obstacles to face. Growing older makes you have an open mind and realize what you did is wrong.

We all should prioritize what we do, and make sure we do the right thing. the rule that stood out the most was number 1. Life is not fair get used to it, this covers for all the other rules. The rules 2 through 11 are just number 1 in detail. And it is true life is not fair, and we need to learn to accept it.

The three most important rules are 1, 5 and 7. Rule number 5 shows that no matter what job you get. You need to stand tall and accept that you work there. Even if it means flipping burgers. Rule number 7 is also important because we need to appreciate parents. Parents do everything for us, we need to learn from them. All that they do is for us, and they work for us as well. We should learn to appreciate that.

Do you think we should have a final for this class? why or why not? What is a good measure of what you learned this semester?(Use assessment)

As the semester ends I know that I had lot's of fun working on Macs and learning new things. I think we should have a final, but that covers all the general things we did. For example an assessment how to trouble shoot, who invented the first computer, who made Apple company and Microsoft. These are some things that are good facts and will stay with us our whole lives.

Some questions that will seem a little over board will be knowing what every person mentioned in the video. Also putting what they invented, I'm having stress with my other finals to. I have math to really worry about because I want to get a good grade. It will cost me 25% of it from lessons 1 to 6. I'm glad computers is more simple.

Over all in computers I have learned the functions of a computer. I also learned new ways to use Microsoft Word. I thought it was cool learning how to duplicate with pressing copy and paste. I learned to make a resume, flyer, signs, and some art work. I also liked having my own work space. I'm going to miss this class!:(

What does the phrase "when you know better, you do better." mean?
(Use Quote)

This quote generally means that we all know what is best for us. Our parents alway's nag about their children knowing what to do. Even though as teens we know that we have to make the right choices to succeed in life, parents like to remind us now and then. Personally my mom and dad are always reminding me every day which gets me kind of irritated.

The rest of the quote says you do better. It's true as long as you follow the right path you get awarded. The Better meaning doing better in life. We all need to know the difference between wrong and right. Also knowing what we want for ourselves which is the good. It can also refer to school.

In school you know that you have to pass your classes, so then you can have a better future. When you know better about school, you do better in school, it makes sense. Many people do not know that doing the right thing is better, they go on the wrong path and don't succeed. We should all try to make our lives better and become better people. This is to help ourselves be happy.

Would you rather live in a cold region that snows all the time or a hot region that is over 100 degrees all the time? Explain why. You have to pick one.
(paragraphs in Jane Schaffer Format) (Use arid)

Every state has it's own temperatures. Some are hotter, others are colder, and some are just right. Here in California each season has it's own temperature, in summer we get up to 100 degrees. In the winter we get the low 60's. I'm glad I live in California because of it's wonderful weather, we notice all 4 seasons, and we get balanced temperatures.

If I had to choose to live in another state, I would choose a cold region. The reason I would choose a cold region is that you can just wear winter clothes and your settled. On the other hand in hot regions, no matter what tank top you wear, or the shorts you will be hot because of the arid conditions. Another reason I like the cold regions is that it snows. It could snow all of winter and it looks beautiful. The state I will move that is a good cold region, but can also be hot is Wisconsin, or Oregon.

As a child a lived some time in Wisconsin, because my dad had a house there. Soon we moved because my mother could not stand the weather. From there we came to California. In Elementary School my family and I were going to move to Oregon, because of it's nice weather. I did not want to move though I thought California had the best weather.

What are the dangers of the internet?  Are the parents in the video Justified in their concerns?   How can parents be more vigilant and protect their children?
(Use vigilant)

There can be many dangers in the internet, teens and children may be seeing things they are not supposed to. Children may be cyberbullied, tracked by predators. This can cause a great fright to parents. Teens may also be talking to people they don't even know. Many children do not know that many predators can be disguised as someone they are not.

Parents have been scared that their children can be going on the wrong path. Parents have the right to be concerned, but not to over due it. Some parents are too vigilant and others are not. Children get angry at their parents when they are trying to keep track of them. some parents in the video were out of control.

For example the mother who ruined her sons high school reputation got out of hand. She could have due the punishment a different way. In my opinion our parents have told us what is right, and wrong. we are aware not to talk to strangers. I wouldn't kill myself i think it's a scary feeling.

Last week was Thanksgiving, what are you thankful for?  Please describe your week off.  Did you go anywhere or do anything significant these last nine days off? What was your favorite part of this mini vacation?.
(Use Gluttony)

On Thanksgiving I was thankful for all my family and friends and everything I have. I was also thankful for my fourteen birthday. I had a great time on my birthday, I had lots to eat. My mom made lasagna, two hams, and a lot of other food. I did not want to look gluttony, but the food looked so good.

I still ate a lot not excessive eating, but a lot. At the end I was so full I couldn't even move. On the other few days of the mini vacation I stayed home. I had to finish biology and a english project. I was also thankful of not having excessive work on the week. Although I didn't travel I did get to sleep in.

My favorite part of the mini vacation was my birthday. I got to spend time with my family and enjoy being together. I also chose this because of all the yummy food I ate. The best part of the day was playing volleyball with my cousins. I had a great time and hope i have another mini vacation.

Benjamin Franklin wanted the turkey, not the bald eagle, to be our country’s symbol.  If you had the opportunity to help decide on our nation’s symbol, would you choose the turkey or the bald eagle?  Or would you choose a different animal all together? Justify your answer with examples.(Use mascot)

If I had the opportunity of choosing wether the nation's symbol was the eagle or the turkey. I would choose the eagle because the turkey is ugly, and thanksgiving would not be a good day to celebrate the  nations bird. We would have all ate them and there would be none left. Turkey's are not really a bird that acts smart.

The bald eagle is good because the it's intelligent , dignified and we don't eat it. The bald eagle shows bravery and courage that is a good thing to represent the nation. It's a good thing we can't eat our nations bird, that would show weakness and no power. The United States have shown great strength and that is why we take care of these birds.

Our high school's mascot is an eagle, I'm glad it isn't something that shows weakness. For example some high schools have a dog, I know they're cute but not for a mascot. A mascot has to show what the high school is made of. I wouldn't change the mascot at all it's perfect.

Journal #50

You are the network administrator for a rather large company. You have a young family and need your job to support them. As part of your responsibility as a network administrator is to monitor the emails for the organization. Usually this just means occasionally allow through emails for staff members that have been accidentally blocked by the spam filters.

One day you get a helpdesk request from a staff member asking for an email to get released. Normally it’s standard procedure except this time the request has come from the wife of a very good friend of yours. You recognize the name on the helpdesk request so quickly attend to the problem. As part of the procedure you need to manually open up the email to ensure that it isn’t spam, so you do and you discover that it certainly isn’t spam. You find that it’s actually an email to your friends wife from her lover. You scan the rest of the contents of the email and there is no doubt that she has been having an affair for some time now.

You release the email, but you can’t decide what to do. You’re initial reaction is to call your friend up and tell him about the email, however you quickly realize that company policy is very strict about revealing the contents of confidential emails of staff members regardless of the contents and unless someone’s life is in immediate danger, under no circumstances are you permitted to reveal the information.

In any case you know that revealing this information presents great risk, because even if you don’t do it directly, there is a good chance that the dots will be joined somewhere along the line and you will be found out. However you feel that by not telling you friend that you are aiding his wife get away with adultery and this troubles you greatly.

What do you do??
(Use spam)

What I would do if I were the friend and found out that the wife was cheating on the husband, I would be shocked. As my job to be in charge of reviewing the emails, I would have preferred the email to be a spam than a message that would affect my best friend. It's harder to tell your best friend something that would really hurt them.To say their wife has an affair would be against your privileges at your work. I would think it's the right thing to tell my friend but the wife would think I am in her business.

If I did tell the husband about his wife having an affair, I would think they would have problems and I wouldn't want to be the cause of their divorce. On the other side if I don't say anything I can live a calm life with my job. I know that wouldn't be a good friend to not tell him when I found out. But, I don't want to look for trouble.

What i could do is not say anything and set up a trap for the wife without her knowing. The trap would consider the husband finding the wife red handed. That way it doesn't have to do with my job. The best part is that I told my best friend without him noticing. The plan might take a long  time to prepare, but you help your friend,

What is the meaning of the phrase "You reap what you sow".  What does it mean to you? Give examples to support your position. Is it the same as Karma?(Use sow)

This phrase means that the problems you got yourself into were caused by your actions. I wouldn't sow anything till I am completely sure of what I am doing. What this phrase means to me is that whatever I do, something good or bad may come out of it. I will need to watch out for the bad consequences. Sometimes you can be aware of what you are doing, and other times you can't be sure.

I have made mistakes in life that i have to sow myself out of. For example when I have a bad grade on something I try to get a better score the next time. We should all work on making changes, especially if you've sown to deep. Some people have stopped trying to get out their problems. We should all keep going in life and fix our mistakes.

Although some people might think it is the same thing as karma it's not. There is a big difference between you getting yourself into something, and something just happening. The phrase represents someone getting themselves into trouble. Karma is something that just happens that you make no effect on.
